Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) sleuths raided the residence of senior Congress leader and former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik at Bhubaneswar’s Nayapalli on Saturday.

According to sources, a team of 8-10 ED sleuths arrived at Patnaik’s residence around 7 am and began the search operation. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel were deployed outside the residence to ensure security.

The ED raid is reportedly linked to allegations of illegal financial transactions, although the exact reason behind the raid is not yet clear. Sources suggest that the ED is investigating Patnaik’s involvement in illegal financial dealings.

Patnaik’s residence at Nayapalli, along with two other locations, was searched by the ED officials. However, no official statement has been released by Patnaik or his representatives regarding the raid.
