Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) is set to launch its much-awaited Ekamra Residency project, a major housing initiative aimed at expanding quality residential options in the rapidly growing Subudhipur area. The decision was finalized today during the 151st Authority Meeting of the BDA, chaired by Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister for Housing & Urban Development and Public Enterprises-cum-Chairman, BDA.
Designed to offer modern urban living, Ekamra Residency spans 7.36 acres and features 416 two-bedroom and 288 three-bedroom apartments across three B+G+12 towers. The project has already completed construction and will soon open for allotment once modalities are finalized, Mahapatra informed.
“These projects will fulfill the ambition of people having their own home in the State Capital. The construction of houses in the project has already been completed,” the Minister said, emphasizing the government’s focus on accessible and high-quality urban housing.
Ekamra Residency incorporates a wide range of amenities, including a community hall, rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, walking track, children’s play zone, commercial spaces, solar panel zone, and well-designed open areas. The project is further supported by a 100-ft approach road and ample basement parking for residents and visitors.
The meeting was attended by BMC Mayor Sulochana Das, Jatni Municipality Chairman Ananta Behera, H&UD Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, RDC (Central Division) Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, BDA Vice Chairman Chanchal Rana, and other senior officials.
Apart from the housing project, several key urban infrastructure proposals were approved during the meeting. These include:
- Development of the CDP road from Sani Temple, Niladri Vihar to DAV School Road, Sailashree Vihar
- Construction of a 45-metre CDP road linking Guru Kelu Charan Park Square to Patia Railway Station
- Development of the CDP road connecting Nuagaon–Kateni Road to the road passing through TP-08
