Bhubaneswar: In a shocking turn of events, the elder son of a 64-year-old man, who was allegedly hacked to death in Rayagada district, has been arrested by police. The arrest comes after the younger son, Shyam Sundar, was already taken into custody for the crime.
According to police, Kailash Sahoo’s body was recovered from his house in Bramhin Sahi under Bisam Cuttack police station limits on January 30, with severe injuries on his neck and head. The investigation revealed that the motive behind the murder was a dispute over money lending activities, with Kailash Sahoo allegedly involved in interest-based loan activities.
The elder son has confessed to killing his father with a sharp weapon, while the younger son, Shyam Sundar, had initially tried to cover up the crime by attempting to make it look like a suicide. Police are continuing their investigation to determine if anyone else was involved in the crime.
