Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident triggered by continuous heavy rainfall, an elderly man died after wall of his house collapsed on him in Arisal village under Delang police station in Puri district.
The deceased has been identified as Ramachandra Behera, a resident of Arisal village.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Behera was sitting inside his house. The wall, weakened by prolonged rain, suddenly collapsed on him. Local residents and family members immediately rescued him and rushed to Delang Community Health Centre in critical condition. He was provided emergency treatment. However, despite medical efforts, Behera succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The news of his death has cast a pall of gloom over the family and the entire village.
