Kalahandi: In a shocking incident, an elderly man was tonsured and paraded with a garland of slippers for allegedly misbehaving with a woman. The incident took place in Badili village, only eight kilometres away from Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district, following an order of a kangaroo court.
According to reports, the woman of ward no 13 had gone to fetch water from a nearby well when she was allegedly abused by the accused elderly man. The victim’s family members took the matter to the Kangaroo Court. The court subsequently convened a meeting at Laxmi Puja Mandap.
The court ordered the accused to be paraded around the village with a shoe garland and his head shaved. The punishment was carried out in the presence of villagers and local leaders.
Meanwhile, the video of the old man being paraded with a shaved head and a garland of slippers has gone viral on social media.
