Bargarh: The body of an elderly man was recovered from a pond in Tinikani village under Barpali police station in Bargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Pancham Kumbhar (50), a resident of Lemadhar village under Bijepur police station.
According to reports, Pancham was working at a person’s house in Tinikani village and he went missing since morning. However, his body was found floating in the pond in the afternoon.
Upon being informed by villagers, police and fire department arrived at the scene and recovered the body and sent it to Bargarh for post-mortem examination.
The deceased’s younger brother, Sudam Kumbhar, has lodged a complaint with the Barpali police station, alleging foul play.
Police, meanwhile, launched an investigation to ascertain the reason behind the death.
