Elderly Woman Beaten To Death By Son Over Family Feud In Angul

Bhubaneswar: A 70-year-old woman, Lata Naik, was beaten to death by her son, Saroj Naik, over a family dispute at Susuda village under Town Police station in Angul on Sunday.

According to reports, Lata and Saroj had a heated argument on Saturday night over a family issue, which escalated into a physical fight on Sunday morning. During the altercation, Saroj started beating his mother, ultimately leading to her death.

The villagers informed the police, who seized the body and sent it for autopsy. Saroj has been arrested and is being interrogated.

The police are investigating the incident after registering a case in this connection. Neighbours reported that Saroj frequently engaged in heated arguments with his mother and other family members, which turned violent on Sunday morning.
