Kalahandi: In a shocking incident, an elderly woman was killed by her neighbour in Majhiguda village, under the jurisdiction of Koksara police, Kalahandi district, today.
The deceased woman, identified as Kalindri Tandi, was hacked to death by Shrikar Punji, who lives near her house.
According to reports, Kalindri was attacked while returning home after bathing in the early morning hours. Punji, who was waiting in ambush, brutally struck Kalindri on the head with an axe, leaving her unconscious.
After learning about the incident, Kalindri’s family members rushed her to Koksara Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by doctors.
The exact reason behind Kalindri’s killing is unknown, and the accused has been absconding since morning.
The Koksara police have started an investigation and are searching for the accused.
