Bhubaneswar: Elections to the Notified Area Councils (NACs) of Atabira in Bargarh district and Hindol in Dhenkanal district were held peacefully today.
Elections were held for the total 28 Wards of the two NACs, said an official press release.
In Atabira NAC, a total of 39 candidates contested for the posts of Councillors in 12 Wards, while 04 candidates contested for the post of Chairperson.
Similarly, in Hindol NAC a total of 50 candidates contested in the elections for the posts of Councillors in 16 Wards and 03 candidates contested for the post of Chairperson.
Polling of votes was held in the two NACs from 8 AM till 5 PM.
According to State Election Commission sources, while 88 per cent of votes were polled in Hindol NAC, 74 per cent of votes were polled in Atabira NAC.
