Cuttack: The carcass of an elephant was recovered from an abandoned open well at Kandarpur under the Athagarh forest division in Cuttack.

The elephant’s body was found after it had lain in the well for a long time, and the water had dried up. The discovery was made after the authorities received information about the incident.

The Athagarh Forest Department rushed to the spot and launched an operation to retrieve the body from the well. The cause of the elephant’s death remains unclear.

According to officials, it appears that the elephant accidentally fell into the well, and locals were unaware of the incident as the well has been abandoned.
