Bhubaneswar: The carcass of an elephant has been found at Pupunda forest in Angul forest division on Sunday. The forest department has informed that the deceased elephant was approximately 20 years old.
The elephant was spotted roaming in the Pupunda area yesterday but was found dead by forest officials this morning. They immediately notified the Divisional Forest Officer about the incident.
According to the Angul DFO, three wounds were found on the elephant’s body, and the cause of its death will be clear after the post-mortem report is received.
