Bhubaneswar: In light of the current national security situation, a high-level meeting has been scheduled to review the security preparedness at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) facilities in Chandipur today.

The meeting, chaired by Eastern Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Satyajit Naik, is set to take place today at 2 pm.

As per reports, the meeting aims to assess the security framework of two critical defence units located in Chandipur: the Integrated Test Range (ITR) and the Proof and Experimental Establishment (PXE). Senior security officials from the district police and coastal security forces are expected to attend, presenting updates on the current security scenario and potential threats.

The agenda includes evaluating the existing security protocols, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and discussing preparedness strategies to safeguard these high-value installations.

The meeting may be held at the DRDO office or within the secure premises of the PXE campus, depending on logistical considerations.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a crucial meeting with the heads of India’s border guarding forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), late Thursday night. The meeting aimed to discuss strategies and preparedness in response to recent cross-border tensions and hostilities, reflecting the government’s proactive approach to national security.

It is learnt that Shah reviewed the situation along India’s international borders, particularly in the aftermath of the precision strikes on multiple targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) conducted by India.
