Eminent Odia Writer Bhima Prusty To Get Sarala Puraskar

Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia writer Bhima Prusty will be conferred the prestigious Sarala Puraskar for his novel ‘Jambuloka’. The book was published in 2017.

The writer will be awarded with a citation and cash reward of Rs 5 lakh at a special literary ceremony here on October 26.

This is the 44th edition of the literary award, which was instituted by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT) in 1980.

‘Ila-Bansidhar Panda Kala Samman’ was also announced for the year 2023. Guru Benudhar Mohapatra, a unique sculptor of pattachitra and famous flute player Guru Mohini Mohan Patnaik will be honoured with the award this year. Both of them will be awarded with a citation and a cash reward of Rs 2 lakh each.
