Cuttack: The Entrepreneurship Week and Industry Exhibition 2023 organised by the District Industrial Institute commenced in Cuttack on Sunday. The event will continue till March 11 and students of Ravenshaw University will join the exhibition on the final day.
Inaugurating the event, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Resources Ranendra Pratap said that Odisha is producing 24 lakh million tonnes of food grains. He added that entrepreneurs can help in the progress of the state by setting up new industries in the state.
Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena was the keynote speaker at the programme. He emphasised the need for proper infrastructure for entrepreneurs in Odisha. “There are all kinds of provisions for land, water and grants for entrepreneurs in Odisha. The state government is also increasing its budget allocations for industries every year and providing 30 to 40 per cent subsidy to new industrial units.”
Dr Sharat Kumar Sahu, president of the Odisha Shilpa Maha Sangh, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra, CMC Commissioner Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, Cuttack Chowdar MLA Sauvik Vishwala and Cuttack Barbati MLA Muhammad Mokim attended the event and shed light on ways and means to promote the industry in the district.
