Bhubaneswar: The Economics Offense Wing (EOW), Bhubaneswar, has recently arrested the long-absconding proprietor of Quick Click Ad Media, Bimalananda Bhuyan on May 18.
The accused was arrested from Indiranagar Police Station limits in EOW PS Case No 10, registered on December 17, 2020, under section 406/420/467/471/120-B IPC. Bhuyan was produced before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM)-II, Lucknow and brought to Bhubaneswar on the strength of transit remand.
Bhuyan will be produced before the P.O. designated court under the OPID Act, Cuttack on Tuesday.
Ramya Bhuyan, the wife of the accused and partner in LLP, was also arrested and the court forwarded a few days back. She was working with a Real Estate Company in Mumbai by faking her details in Aadhar.
The case has been registered on the allegation of one Bikash Podar of Sambalpur against Bimalananda Bhuyan and his wife Rammi Bhuyan for duping 53 investors of Rs.1.2 crore on the pretext of supplying LED monitors for advertisements through their organisation named “Quick Click AD Media”, which was registered as a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) firm with ROC, Chhattisgarh in the year 2017.
The investors were being induced to invest in its two lucrative schemes. In the first scheme, the investors were required to invest Rs.54,000 (for 3’x3’ LED monitor) to get Rs.3,100 per month for 03 years.
Whereas, in the second scheme, the investors were required to invest Rs.3 lakhs (for 6.4”x6.4” LED monitors) to get 70% profit for 03 years after which the investor will get 30% of the profit and the remaining 70% will go to the LLP.
Through the schemes couple had collected public deposits of about Rs. 2 crores from more than 100 investors, and absconded by siphoning off the collected sum without any purchase of LED monitors.
The firm was operating mainly in districts like Khordha, Koraput, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Ganjam in Odisha. Whereas, the Head Office was located at Shyamnagar, Raipur, Chhattisgarh and branch offices at Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, and Jaydev Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
