Bhubaneswar: Odia YouTuber Priyanka Senapati has come forward to clarify her association with Jyoti Malhotra, a YouTuber recently arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan. Reports had surfaced suggesting Senapati’s connection to Malhotra, prompting her to issue a public statement.
In her clarification, Senapati stated that she knew Malhotra through YouTube and their interaction was limited to content creation. “I was completely unaware of the serious charges against her. Had I known she was spying for an enemy country, I would have never maintained any contact with her,” Senapati wrote.
Senapati emphasized that she is willing to cooperate fully with investigative agencies if required. “If any investigative agency wishes to question me, I will fully cooperate. Nation comes first,” she concluded.
According to Senapati’s father, Rajkishore Senapati, Priyanka had helped Malhotra during her visit to Puri around seven to eight months ago. Rajkishore also confirmed that Priyanka had visited Kartarpur in Pakistan four months prior.
Priyanka’s uncle (elder brother of her father) has reacted to the interrogation of his niece Priyanka. He said, “The country comes first, the daughter is secondary. But we have full faith in our daughter. She is not that kind of person. If anything wrong has happened, action should be taken.” He acknowledged that Priyanka had visited Pakistan.
The Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Odisha Police have questioned Priyanka and her family regarding her links to Malhotra. The family has assured full cooperation with the investigating agencies.
Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest was part of a larger operation, with Haryana Police arresting six individuals on charges of spying and passing sensitive information to Pakistani operatives.
