Ex-Manamunda IIC Susmita Magar Suspended Over Misconduct, Dereliction Of Duty

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police has suspended Inspector Susmita Magar, the former In-Charge Inspector (IIC) of Manamunda Police Station in Boudh district, over allegations of gross misconduct and dereliction of duty.

The action was taken after the Police Headquarters initiated proceedings for a disciplinary inquiry against the officer.

According to an official order issued by Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Yogesh Bahadur Khurania on Monday, departmental proceedings are being contemplated against Inspector Magar in connection with the alleged lapses. The order stated that her suspension was deemed necessary in the interest of public service.

The Police Headquarters invoked Rule 840 of the Police Manual Rules (PMR), 1940, while placing the officer under suspension with immediate effect.

Inspector Magar, who is currently serving as an Inspector of Police in Boudh district, will remain under suspension until further orders, the order stated.

During the suspension period, she will remain under the disciplinary control of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Southern Range,Brahmapur. She will be entitled to receive subsistence allowance and dearness allowance as admissible under Rule 90 of the Odisha Service Code.

The suspension order was issued by the DGP following allegations of misconduct and failure to discharge official duties. Sources said allegations regarding her alleged links with the ganja mafia have also surfaced. However, the claims are yet to be established and will be examined during the course of the disciplinary proceedings.
