Bhubaneswar: A Class 10 student of a Bolangir-based residential school allegedly committed suicide a few hours before the commencement of High School Certificate (HSC) examinations. The student is alleged to have taken the extreme step due to exam fear.
The deceased has been identifies as Binayak Pradhan.
Binayak, a student of Biswatma Vidya Mandir in Bolangir, was supposed to appear for the Class 10 board exam today. However, he committed suicide by hanging himself in the hostel bathroom in the late night.
The school authorities found him hanging and rushed him to the hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
On basis of a complaint filed by his family members, Sadar police recovered the body.
Blaming the school authorities behind the death of Binayak, the deceased’s family members, meanwhile, demanded an investigation into the matter.
Police, meanwhile, have started a probe into it.
