Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Odisha from December 3rd to 7th, and extensive preparations are underway to ensure a smooth itinerary.
According to an official press release, a state-level meeting was held at Lokseva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Friday forenoon under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Home Department Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrat Sahu, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, DG Fire Services Sudhanshu Sarangi, Collector Khordha, and other senior officials from various departments. Collectors of Puri and Mayurbhanj, along with Naval Department officers, participated virtually.
President Murmu will arrive in Bhubaneswar on December 3rd by Air Force flight and unveil a newly installed statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu at Niladri Vihar in the evening.
On December 4th, she will visit the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri for darshan, attend the 75th-anniversary celebration of Gopabandhu Ayurveda College, and later witness a naval strength demonstration by the Indian Navy at the Puri Blue Flag beach.
On December 5th, the President will attend the 40th convocation of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology in Bhubaneswar and inaugurate the new judicial court complex later in the day.
On December 6th, she will pay homage at the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at AG Chhak in Bhubaneswar on his death anniversary, then proceed to Mayurbhanj via Kalaikunda Airport in West Bengal.
In Mayurbhanj, she will interact with students and teachers at Uparbeda Government Higher Secondary School, engage with villagers at her former residence, and flag off a vehicle donated by the SLS Trust Board for the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Rairangpur. She will also visit the local women’s college and perform puja and aarti at the Punyeshwar Mahadev Temple.
On December 7th, the President will travel to Bangriposhi to lay the foundation stone for several railway projects and development initiatives, including the Rairangpur Tribal Research Centre and the Sub-Divisional Hospital. After completing her engagements, she will return to New Delhi via Kalaikunda Airport.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja reviewed the arrangements in detail, emphasizing the need for flawless execution of the itinerary. Discussions covered accommodations, security, medical support, road repairs, uninterrupted power and water supply, internet facilities, and media coverage.
Collectors of Puri, Khordha, and Mayurbhanj were instructed to oversee preparations in their respective districts. A control room operated by the Home Department will coordinate all activities during the President’s visit.
Special Secretary of the Home Department, Radha Kishan Sharma, presented a detailed plan outlining temporary accommodation setups, carcade management, emergency response measures, and other logistical arrangements. The visit will also include programs that were postponed earlier due to Cyclone Dana.
