Bhubaneswar: A family quarrel over a trivial issue took an ugly turn after a woman allegedly slit her husband’s throat at Barigoda village under Dharakote police limits in Ganjam district today.
The 45-year-old Rohit Patra suffered critical injuries on the throat and back. He was admitted to Aska sub-divisional hospital and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur after his condition deteriorated.
Rohit, son of Madan Patra of Barigoda had always been torturing his wife in an inebriated condition. Unable to bear the brunt of her drunk husband, wife Kasturi slit the throat and back of her husband with a sharp knife on Saturday.
Profusely bleeding Rohit was taken to Aska hospital by his family members and later shifted to Berhampur. His condition is stable now.
No complaint has been lodged at police station in this regard.
