Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reviewed the crop loss situation caused by unseasonal rain at Seragada block, Hinjili block, Aska and Kabisuryanagar during his visit to Ganjam district, on Monday.
As per reports, Patnaik went to Seragada block under his constituency before visiting Aska, Kabisuryanagar and Khallikote. Patnaik met the farmers who incurred losses due to unseasonal rain and visited their croplands during his visit.
Patnaik inquired about crop damage and discussed the situation with the concerned officials.
After taking stock of the situation, Patnaik told the media. “I have been looking at the crop damage which is very bad. The farmers must be compensated very quickly as they were in the time of my government. All the damage that is done to the crop, they must be given compensation very very quickly.”
It is pertinent to mention that earlier on Sunday Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi also visited three affected districts and met the families of the affected farmers. He also took stock of the situation near the paddy fields and assured that timely support would be given to all the affected.
