Fatal Selfie: Youth Falls Into Stone Quarry In Khordha, Goes Missing

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a youth went missing after drowning in the Bada Saunlia stone quarry in the Tapang area of Khordha district on Monday.

According to reports, four youths who had come in a car in the afternoon today were taking selfies when the tragic incident occurred.

While taking selfies two youths fell into the deep water of the quarry after their feet slipped.

While one of the youths was rescued by his friend, the other youth remains missing.

Their friends informed the police following which the latter reached the spot and informed the Fire Brigade.

Later, Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) also reached the spot and launched a search operation to rescue the missing youth.

Search and rescue operation for the missing youth which had been continuing for over 2-3 hours was underway till reports last came in.
