Bolangir: A tragic accident claimed the lives of a father and son after their motorcycle collided with a roadside tree in Bolangir district on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Manu Nial and his son Khetri Nial from Kharbahali village, under the jurisdiction of Belpada police station.

According to reports, Manu and his son had traveled to Kantabanji for some work on their motorcycle. While returning home, their bike veered off course and struck a roadside tree between Salandi and Kharbahali, throwing both off the bike due to the impact.

Local residents rushed them to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Belpada, where doctors pronounced Manu dead upon arrival.

Given Khetri’s critical condition, the CHC doctors referred him to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir. Khetri succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.
