Bolangir: A dramatic rescue operation unfolded in Balangir last night when police saved a 9-year-old boy from his father, who had placed him on railway tracks at knifepoint.
Sahin Das, a resident of Kansari Pada in Balangir, got into a quarrel with his wife. In a shocking turn of events, Das held his son hostage at knife point and placed him on the railway tracks near Sudapada railway gate.
He also shot the video of his son being placed on the track and sent it to his wife who informed the police immediately.
Upon receiving information, Balangir SDPO and team immediately alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP). The GRP alerted the concerned authorities which managed to stop Alleppey-Dhanbad Super fast Express and rescue the boy from the railway track.
Police, meanwhile, arrested his father.
The timely intervention of the police saved the child from a tragic fate.
