Kataka: A major fire broke out at a dairy factory located under Jagatpur Industrial area in Kataka district on Thursday.
As per reports, the fire broke out inside the dairy factor and property worth lakhs of rupees was gutted.
Upon being informed, fire tenders from Chauliaganj and Salipur rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. Due to heavy smoke inside the godown, the Robotics machine of the Fire Services department could not enter the premises. The fire was seen in thermocol, tin boxes and AC units inside the warehouse.
It is suspected that the blaze was caused due to a short circuit. The exact cause of the fire will be ascertained after investigation. However, the extent of damage caused by the blaze is yet to be ascertained.
Jagatpur Police also reached the spot and has started a preliminary investigation. Further details are awaited.
