Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out at the Punjab National Bank at Durga Bazar in Jagatsinghpur town early on Sunday morning.
Locals alerted the police after noticing smoke emanating from the bank’s shutters. Police and fire brigade personnel immediately rushed to the scene and attempted to extinguish the flames by breaking the shutters.
Although the extent of the damage is unclear, rescue operations were temporarily hindered. Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit may have caused the fire, but the exact cause can only be ascertained after investigation.
