Bhubaneswar: All government, private and aided schools in Mayurbhanj district will remain closed today due to incessant rain since yesterday.
The District Education Officer announced the closure, citing the safety of students as the main reason.
As per the official order, while students will stay home, all teachers and non-teaching staff have been asked to report to their respective schools as per the regular schedule.
The district administration has urged parents to keep children indoors and avoid low-lying areas, as the district has been witnessing rainfall activity since yesterday.
Meanwhile, the IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places in the district today.
