Bhubaneswar: A massive fire gutted an apparel store worth lakhs at Bazar Chowk in Angul district on Monday, causing extensive damage.
According to reports, the fire started at around 12 pm at a store called ‘MAN STORE.’ At the time, 10 to 12 people were inside the store. When they spotted the flames, the occupants quickly fled the scene.
The store authorities informed the Angul fire station and firefighters rushed to the spot to control the fire.
The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
As of the time this report was written, the fire had not been fully extinguished and fire service personnel mentioned they were facing challenges in putting out the flames.
