Bhubaneswar: Fire DG Sudhanshu Sarangi today inspected the fire safety arrangements at Barabati Stadium, including the green room, VIP lounge, stadium, and gallery, ahead of the India-South Africa T20 match on December 9.

Sarangi informed that 350 firefighters will be deployed, with 21 fire tenders of different kinds mobilised. Seven temporary fire stations will be set up, and adequate water pumps will be installed to fetch water from Gadgadia Ghat of Mahanadi

Two fire control rooms will be operational during the match, and a modern mobile control van will be utilised to monitor the situation through CCTV camera visuals, he added.

“We are well prepared to meet all the challenges,” Sarangi said. The teams will practice on December 8, and the match will be played the next day. Ticket sales, both online and offline, have been completed.
