Bhubaneswar: Fire Services personnel successfully rescued an accident victim from a water body at Hatibari under Jujomura police limits of Sambalpur district on Monday.
Reportedly, a truck loaded with 40-ton iron poles had met with an accident and had fallen into a water body at Hatibari. On receiving information, fire engines from Jujumora and Sambalpur Fire Stations rushed to the spot.
It was a critical operation as one person was trapped inside the truck with his body submerged in the water. The fire personnel used pumps to drain the water and cut the truck with help of a spreader, cutter, and plasma cutter.
The person was rescued alive and rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) for immediate treatment.
