Bhubaneswar: A fisherman went missing after falling into the Daya River in Puri district on Friday while he was out fishing.
According to reports, the incident occurred near Jaguleipadar in Kanas block. The fisherman had gone to the river in a boat to catch fish when he suddenly slipped and fell into the water. He was later swept away by the current and went missing in the river.
After receiving information about the incident, local residents launched a rescue operation. The administration was also informed, following which a rescue team reached the spot and launched a search for the missing fisherman.
However, there has been no trace of the missing fisherman so far. The search operation is still underway.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the village.
