Fishermen Advised Not To Venture Into Sea Along Odisha Coast Till July 29: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has issued a warning for fishermen along the Odisha coast due to rough sea conditions over the next three days.

According to the IMD bulletin issued today, squally weather with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph gusting up to 60 kmph is very likely to prevail along and off the Odisha coast from July 27 to July 29, 2026.The sea condition is also expected to remain rough to very rough during this period. In view of the adverse weather, the IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea along and off the Odisha coast between July 27 and July 29.

Authorities have urged those already at sea to return to shore and coastal residents to remain alert.

Meanwhile, the deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of West Bengal-North Odisha coasts moved very slowly northwards with the speed of 3 kmph during past six hours.

It is very likely to move nearly northwards, skirt Sagar Island and cross West Bengal-North Odisha coast between Balasore & Canning close to Haldia today.
