Paradip: A fishing boat capsized near the sea mouth at Nehru Bangla in Paradip on Wednesday, triggering a swift rescue operation by fellow fishermen and the marine police.
According to reports, the boat, believed to be from Astaranga, lost balance due to rough sea conditions and overturned close to the stone embankment area. The fishermen on board were quickly rescued with the help of another nearby boat before the vessel fully submerged.
The marine police team stationed near Nehru Bangla immediately joined the rescue efforts, ensuring that all crew members were brought to safety. No casualties have been reported so far.
Meanwhile, another rescue boat is making efforts to tow the capsized vessel back to shore using ropes. Authorities said operations are ongoing and that further details about the incident will be available once the boat is retrieved.
