Five Accused Get Bail In BMC Addl Commissioner Assault Case

Bhubaneswar: The Khurda District and Sessions Court granted bail to five accused in the assault case of BMC Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahu.

The accused include BJP Corporator of Ward No. 9 Aparupa Narayan Rout (Jeevan), Rashmi Ranjan Mohapatra, Debashish Pradhan, Sachikanta Swain, and Sanjib Mishra.

It is pertinent to mention that the incident occurred on June 30, when Sahu was allegedly attacked by the accused inside the BMC office. The accused were charged with attempted murder, assault, and kidnapping. BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan was also arrested in connection with the case and sent to 14-day judicial custody.

On July 9, the Khurda District and Sessions court granted bail to Jagannath Pradhan on a personal bond of Rs 30,000 and one surety. Now, the other five accused have also been granted bail.
