Phulbani POCSO Court

Bhubaneswar: A Fast Track POCSO court has sentenced five individuals to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment each for raping and robbing a minor girl in the Phiringia police station area in Phulbani.

The convicts, identified as Ashok Mukhi, Susanta Nayak, Krupakar Mukhi, Jerah Nayak, and Joseph Rupamajhi, were found guilty of the heinous crime.

The court also directed the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) to pay a compensation of Rs 6 lakh to the victim. This verdict brings some solace to the victim and her family after a long and arduous legal battle.

The incident had taken in place in April 2024 when five people raped the minor girl while she was alone in her house. They had also robbed her belongings.
