Bhubaneswar: The MKCG Medical College and Hospital authorities debarred five senior students for their involvement in ragging juniors on the campus.
They have been directed to stay away from the campus for six months. The dean of the medical college initiated the action against the accused students on the recommendations of the anti-ragging committee.
Some junior MBBS students had alleged mental harassment by seniors and lodged complaints before the National Medical Commission (NMC)
The NMC directed asked dean Prof Suchitra Dash to investigate the matter and take necessary action. The anti-ragging committee of the college has initiated a probe into the allegations.
The junior students alleged their seniors allegedly thrashed them, abused and forced them to dance. When they try to resist, the senior attacked them.
