Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police today arrested five members of a bouncer gang who were involved a forceful possession of land in the city.
The accused persons are Pradipta Sahu alias Padia of Gadakana, Rasmi Ranjan Parida alias Chiku of Patia, Ajit Mohanty of Patia, Satyabrat Behera alias Nanda of Andharua and Samir Barik alias Munna of Andharua in Bhubaneswar.
They were arrested based on the complaint of a construction firm owner named Manas Kumar Behera. Manas, the owner of Bhumi Infra Pvt Ltd who possessed a land at Damana area in the city lodged a complaint at Chandrasekharpur police station on December 26.
He alleged that one of the accused persons, Padia Sahu called him over phone to come to the landed property at Damana. On reaching there, Manas found Padia along with other accused present.
Padia called him inside the property and locked the gate from inside. Padia Sahu, Ajit Mohanty and Nanda bouncers assaulted him severely. When Manas fell down, Chiku Parida pressed his private part and threatened to vacate the place immediately.
Padia and others attacked him with iron rod and threatened him of dire consequences if he doesn’t vacate the land. They also allegedly snatched away Rs 22,750 cash, gold bracelet and two gold rings from him on gun point, Manas alleged.
Police also seized Rs 16, 080 cash from the possession of the accused.
