Bhadrak: Five passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries after a speeding bus rammed into a stationary truck on National Highway No 16 near Chapulia in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Sunday morning.
According to reports, a private bus – Subhalakshmi – was travelling from Kolkata to Bhubaneswar hit a truck parked on the roadside near the Bina petrol pump in Bhadrak’s Chapulia. As a result, five passengers sitting on the left side of the bus were injured.
Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers and sent the injured to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Some of them were released after administering first-aid treatment.
On being informed, police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident, while the driver and helper of the bus fled the scene after the accident.
