Baripada: A shocking incident has come to light at Baripada under Sadar police limits in Mayurbhanj district, where a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her grandfather.
According to reports, Dilip Hembram lured the child with biscuits and took her to a secluded spot behind her house on December 15, where he committed the heinous crime.
The victim, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to a hospital in Baripada, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
Baripada Sadar Police has initiated an investigation, and Hembram has been arrested and is in police custody for further interrogation.
