Bhubaneswar: Flight services at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar were severely affected due to a global Microsoft outage today.

Airlines such as IndiGo, Akasa Air, Vistara, and SpiceJet experienced issues. Flight bookings and check-ins at the airport were hit which led to manual processing of services. Delay of flight arrival and departure was also reported.

Not only flight services, but also the outage has impacted other sectors like banking services, and railway operations in India and other countries.

The manual boarding pass process is being implemented as a temporary solution, but it is proving to be time-consuming and causing inconvenience to passengers. The global outage has affected millions of Microsoft users worldwide, with widespread disruptions reported in various sectors, said an airport official.
