Bhubaneswar: The Jajpur and Bhadrak district administrations have declared holidays for 383 schools today due to the impact of floods.
In Jajpur district, the District Collector ordered the closure of 244 schools across eight blocks affected by flooding. The blocks where schools have been declared closed are Bari, Dasarathpur, Binjharpur, Rasulpur, Korei, Dharmasala, Jajpur, and Badachana.
The District Education Officer has issued an official notification in this regard.
Meanwhile, in Bhadrak district, 139 schools have been declared closed today in four flood-affected blocks. Schools are closed in Bhadrak, Tihidi, Dhamnagar, and Chandbali blocks. In addition, 225 Anganwadi centres in five blocks, including Basudevpur, have also been shut.
The district administration took the decision as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students amid the flood situation in the region.
