Bhubaneswar: The flood situation in Odisha is to touch its peak in three hours, said Water Resources Engineer-in-Chief Bijay Kumar Mishra today morning.
Mishra informed that the water level at Hirakud dam reservoir at 9 am today was 625.54 ft. The inflow was 7.65 lakh cusec while outflow was 4.48 lakh cusec.
The water flow at Mundali is around 11.6 lakh cusec. It will increase for some time, become steady, and then recede. There has been a falling trend at Pathrala and Khairmal.
The decision to open more gates of Hirakud will be taken based on the situation, said Mishra.
