Bhubaneswar: Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra laid the foundation stone for the new building of the Odisha State Supply Corporation today.
The Rs 25 crore project will be completed within a year and will serve as the corporation’s headquarters.
The new five-storey building will feature a basement parking lot, offices for senior officers, conference rooms, a pantry, a waiting room, observation room, and ample space for employees and officers. The current building, which is 37 years old, is inadequate to meet the growing workload and staff requirements of the corporation.
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Principal Secretary of the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department Sanjay Kumar Singh, Managing Director of the State Supply Corporation K. Sudarshan Chakravarthy, Superintendent Engineer, representatives of the construction company, and other senior officials.
