Balasore: An 8-foot-long python was rescued from a resident’s shed in Badapokhri village under Oupada block in Balasore district on Saturday by forest officials.
According to reports, the reptile entered the shed in search of food and ate a chicken, which alarmed the family when the bird went missing. Villagers spotted the python near the cowshed and immediately alerted the Forest Department and the Bhadrak Snake Helpline.
Responding promptly, forest personnel reached the spot and safely captured the snake. Officials believe the python had ventured into the settlement hunting prey — a behavior observed in the region before.
Following the rescue, the snake was released into a nearby forest, ensuring the safety of both villagers and wildlife.
