Sonepur: Five forest staff were injured after being attacked by some miscreants during a raid at Khatipada village in the Kaudiamunda section under the Binika range on Monday evening.
Reportedly, after the seizure of a huge quantity of teak logs, a team of forest department officials led by Forester Mitrabhanu Singh Dalapati visited the village for further inquiry into the matter.
However, some villagers attacked them. Singh sustained serious injuries in the attack. All the injured forest staff members were admitted to Binika Community Health Centre. Later a case was lodged against the villagers.
