Baripada: Three forest department personnel including the Range Officer of Kendumundi Wild Life Range have received critical injuries in an attack by villagers during a raid at Adelbeda village late Monday night.
Reportedly, around 10 personnel of the forest department had conducted a raid at the village last night to nab wildlife smugglers. However, they were attacked by the villagers and three of them including the Range Officer were detained.
Thakurmunda Police and Karanjia DFO went to the village and rescued the detained personnel after around two hours. The Range Officer has sustained severe injuries on his head.
All the injured forest staff were first admitted to Karanjia hospital from where the Range Officer and other staff member were shifted to Keonjhar hospital. A complaint in this regard has been lodged at Thakurmunda Police Station.
