Bhubaneswar: A young woman who was kidnapped last night was rescued after a 10-hour search operation by the Commissionerate Police in the capital city on Monday.
The woman is currently being questioned at the Maitri Vihar Police Station and the reasons behind the kidnapping have not been disclosed yet.
According to reports, Akash Singh and his female companion were allegedly attacked by a group of four miscreants. During the attack, the woman was abducted while Akash suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Capital Hospital for treatment.
The attackers reportedly contacted Akash via his phone and demanded a ransom for the woman’s release.
Following this, Akash filed a complaint at the Maitri Vihar Police Station, prompting the Commissionerate Police to launch a rescue operation. The woman was successfully rescued and is now being interrogated at the station.
