Bhubaneswar: Former Chitrakonda MLA Dambaru Sisa on Saturday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Sisa joined the BJP along with his supporters- Rahul Khemji, Prakash Pradhan, Santo Haldar, Deba Podiami Arjun Kirsani, Pradyumna Das and others at the party’s state headquarters here.
The former MLA along with his supporters was welcomed into the saffron fold by BJP State Unit president Manmohan Samal, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, and MLA Suryavansi Suraj among others.
Sisa resigned from the primary membership of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday.
He is a youth leader from the Bonda tribal community, a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) and was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2014 on a BJD ticket.
Sisa was denied a BJD ticket to contest in the 2019 General Elections.
He was an aspirant for a ticket from BJD for the 2024 General Elections.
