Bhubaneswar: Former Lok Sabha Member, Anadi Charan Das passed away on Friday. He was 92. Das breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Das was elected five times from the Jajpur Lok Sabha seat. He was suffering from diabetes for a long time. In August last year, his family took him to the hospital due to chest pain.
Das was elected MP from Jajpur Lok Sabha seat 5 times. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Jajpur constituency in 1971, 1980, and 1984 on a Congress ticket. Later, in 1989 and 1991, he was elected to the Lok Sabha as a representative of the Janata Party.
BJD Organizational Secretary and MLA Pranab Prakash Das expressed deep grief over the demise of the former MP. Similarly, OPCC president Sarat Patnaik, among others, expressed deep grief.
