Bhubaneswar: Former Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of NALCO Tapan Chand joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of party State president Manmohan Samal and other senior leaders here at BJP State headquarters on Wednesday.
Chand reached the BJP office in a rally with his supporters where the party president Manmohan Samal welcomed him to the BJP.
Chand, a veteran in the mining and metal sector, was associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during his college days. He was a gold medallist from Utkal University.
He joined as the CMD of Navratna PSU, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) in 2015.
Chand said he joined the BJP after being inspired by the dedication and sacrifice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the public.
Chand took a pledge today to work dedicatedly and make people aware of Modi Guarantee.
Former Navy offiers like Bipin Mishra, Dinabandhu Sarangi, Ashok Patnaik and Ramesh Lenka and Air Force officer Krutibas Mishra and NK Mishra also formally joined the BJP.
